The screening of films beginning at 2pm includes official selections from The Tribeca Film Festival, Women Make Movies and LUNAFEST in addition to compelling general submissions. Themes explored include feminism, body image, the beauty myth, sexuality, domesticity, honor killings, female genital mutilation, mother-daughter issues, domestic violence, politics, rape and race. As young women who create media Abrams and Heyert are proud to showcase the work of 99% female directors and “one incredible male vagina warrior.”

2) F-Word, 10 minutes (Women Make Movies Selection). A doc about defining feminism
3) Backseat Bingo, 5 minutes (LUNAFEST Selection). An animated short about seniors & sex
4) Boxed, 12 minutes. Narrative about one woman’s struggle to free herself
5) Perfection, 5 minutes, (LUNAFEST Selection). The toll societal & family pressures take on one young woman
6) One Drop A Time, 3 minutes, An abstract artistic narrative.
7) Zanzibar, 3 minutes, Dir. Mark Cirnigliaro. A woman in the aftermath of abuse
8) Laying Down Arms, 11 minutes (LUNAFEST Selection). Two lost souls find each other in the midst of turmoil
9) Justifying Rape, 12 minutes, Dir. Claire Noelle Frost. A Must see doc about the advocacy of rape in pop culture.
10) Lumo, 7 minutes. African women seek healing after rape
11) Beat Back Bush, 15 minutes. Brown students aerobicize politics.
12) Boobie Girl, 5 minutes, (LUNAFEST Selection). An animated look at how women relate to their breasts
13) This is for Betsy Hall, 6 minutes (LUNAFEST Selection). A woman’s experience with breast cancer
14) Marion, 7 minutes (Tribeca Film Selection). Rethinking Hitchcock’s take on Women
15) Wet Dreams & False Images, 11 minutes (LUNAFEST Selection). A doc about men’s relationship with airbrushed women

Museum Of The City Of New York 1220 Fifth Avenue at 103rd St New York, NY 10029 By bus: M1, M3, M4 or M106 to 104th Street, M2 to 101st Street. By subway: #6 Lexington Avenue train to 103rd Street, walk three blocks west, or #2 or #3 train to Central Park North (110th Street), walk one block east to Fifth Avenue, then south to 103rd Street. Ramp access is available at the 104th Street entrance.
